SOMA SKIS 2016/2017
Updated for the 2016-17 season, the Soma is back and better than ever. Now featuring an ABS sandwich tip and tail and cap construction underfoot to increase durability and give the ski a responsive feel. A 90mm waist, slight rocker in the tip and tail, 2mm of camber underfoot and transition zone technology combined with dual-radius sidecut provide easy turn initiation and stability at high speeds when you just can’t stay off those fresh lines of corduroy.
True twin tip shape
Cap Underfoot- Having a cap construction underfoot and a sidewall on the tip and tail gives these skis the durability of a cap where they need the most protection, while also making sure the tip and tail have the responsiveness and torsional stiffness of sidewall construction.
Transition Zones- Blended transition zones" use complex curve geometries where both positive/negative sidecut and where rocker/camber meet to make turn initiation fluid yet the whole ski more stable and controllable in all conditions.
Dual Radius Sidecut- Borrowed from world-cup race skis, two different radii on the one ski - a tighter radius forward of the boot centre coupled with a 20% larger sidecut behind - increases the edge-to-edge responsiveness so you can carve short turns whilst retaining high speed stability and control through the tail of the ski.
Poplar/ Beech Core- Poplar is a softwood that saves weight and has absorbent qualities that increase the ski's dampness, while beech is a hardwood that provides strength and snap, for a playful, responsive ski.
